Quality & Safety

Safety Overview

Roadrunner Bridge™ provides services to customers throughout North America in a responsible manner that protects employees, the community, our customers, and the environment. Roadrunner Bridge™ is fully committed to Environmental, Health & Safety (“EHS”) excellence.

To achieve this standard of excellence, Roadrunner Bridge™ has implemented an EHS Management System (“EHSMS”) based in part on the requirements and guidelines of OSHA and the EPA, as well as various state agencies that manage program requirements. The EHSMS is designed to assist Roadrunner Bridge™ in preventing injuries and reduce pollution and ensure compliance with all relevant local, state, and federal rules and regulations, while also applying relevant industry best practices.

Further, to enhance the quality of our organization and surrounding communities, Roadrunner Bridge™ is committed to continual improvement with respect to its EHS performance, and open communication with our communities, and customers. The Roadrunner Bridge™ EHS Department is based in the Tulsa, Oklahoma corporate office with support staff located throughout the US.

The department operates under the belief that Safety is defined as “A judgement of the acceptability of risk associated with a work process in a given situation.” This means that it is everyone’s job to identify risks, communicate those risks, and minimize risks in everything we do. We are driven by doing things safely and by performing tasks the right way for the right reason the first time.

Employee Safety

Safety is our priority every single day. Working as a team, each employee is responsible for ensuring that their coworkers return home safely at the end of the day – we take that responsibility seriously.

Our intense focus on safety benefits our suppliers, shareholders, coworkers, and customers. We are committed to preserving a safe and healthy workplace for all our team members in every situation and role.

We know it takes hard work to be a leading bridge installer and General Contractor. That's why we're committed to maintaining the safest possible work environments in all our operations. All our employees take responsibility for safety in everything they do daily including compliance with widely held standards of workplace safety, including the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, employee feedback and periodical evaluations.

Safety begins on an individual level and our employees take ownership and are responsible for their own well-being and that of the people around them.

Stop Work Authority

All employees are empowered to stop any job they believe is being performed with compromised safety. This not only helps ensure employee well-being, but it also establishes field-wide responsibility for the safety of all operations.

Employee Involvement

Every effort is made to draw employees into the safety process. From one-on-one coaching and communication meetings to participation on safety committees, we require employees at all levels to be involved in our safety initiatives.

When it comes to safety, we see our workers as an extension of the safety management team. They lead us in day-to-day precautions, assist in hazard recognition, conduct behavioral observations and even drive the focus of facility inspection.

811 (Call before you dig)

Roadrunner Bridge™ will require that 811 is called and underground utilities are located before any excavation work is completed.
